It is true to say that the care sector is primarily a people business, but in order to get the best we can for service users we must embrace new technology, says Professor Martin Green, chief executive, Care England

I do not believe that this is an either/ or situation. Rather, in order to get the best we possibly can for people who use care services, we have got to embrace new technology and use it to free up staff time so that they can truly engage in the meaningful relationships that are the basis of good quality care

We are certainly not short of technological options for the care sector, but what we do lack is a comprehensive analysis of what is available, and most importantly, what works.
