The Warren Nursing Home in Northam near Bideford has been sold to local operator Lycette Care.
The Warren Nursing Home is registered for 27 residents, all in single bedrooms of which three have en-suite facilities.
The Warren has been owned and operated by Jackie Thisby and her family for nearly 16 years during which time they have considerably refurbished and improved the home, having built an excellent reputation for care, particularly end of life care. Jackie decided to sell the business to semi retire from the sector and spend more time with family.
New owner, Lycette Care is a family run business operated by mother and son duo, Barbara and Simon Haywood, who operate care businesses in the area which look after adults with learning disability and provides supported accommodation. Their acquisition of The Warren sees them expanding into the elderly nursing care market.
Simon Harvey, director of Christie & Co's South West Healthcare team, who handled the sale, says, "We are delighted to have assisted two local families in their aspirations and are pleased that the home will continue to operate with a local presence.
"This sale is yet further evidence of the general appetite that exists across the South West for a wide range of care home businesses and as 2018 commences, there is no sign of this letting up."
The freehold interest of The Warren was sold off a guide price of £1.475 million with the sale price remaining confidential.
