LNT Care plans approved

Gedling Borough Council has approved plans from LNT Care Developments to create a 66-bedroom development for people with residential and residential dementia care needs.

The complex will be part of a 20-acre site at Teal Park off the Colwick Loop Road in Netherfield which is being developed by Warwick-based AC Lloyd alongside Henry Davidson Developments (HDD).

The go ahead from the planning department means work will start in November with the aim of opening towards the end of 2020.

Overall, 50 full-time jobs will be created at the care home which will include a cinema, garden room, library, hairdressing salon, coffee shop and tea shop and 66 en-suite bedrooms with wet rooms.

Nick Broadbent, development director at LNT Care Developments, says: “Our other care homes in Arnold, Bulwell and Newark have been extremely well received because of the high standard of our care and the homes we have created,

“Receiving planning permission from Gedling Borough Council means we can start enabling works on site this month before we start to build the infrastructure.

“Work will really start in earnest in November and our building programme usually takes 12 months since everything is to a high specification.

“As work progresses, we will start to promote our job vacancies since we will be looking to fill a range of posts.”

The care home will be part of a mixed-use development including a pub/restaurant, food store, ancillary retail units and children’s nursery as well as a 50,000 sq ft trade park for up to 12 units and 145,000 sq ft of employment units across seven premises if these plans are given the green light.

Mark Edwards, managing director of AC Lloyd Commercial, says: “Teal Park is a really exciting venture for AC Lloyd Commercial and it has sparked a great deal of interest from local and national operators.

“We were approached early on by LNT Care Developments and it is fantastic that planning approval has been secured since their home will provide high-quality care for the residents who will be very much part of the community in Netherfield.”

Scott Davidson, managing director of Nottingham and Birmingham based HDD which is delivering the project for AC Lloyd, says: “LNT Care Developments is a first-class operator that is well respected in the sector and we are delighted to welcome them to Teal Park.

“This is the first step in bringing forward a range of community facilities that will serve the existing and new residents of Netherfield and we look forward to announcing further occupiers in the near future.”
