Maids Moreton home top rated

Gracewell of Maids Moreton has once more been awarded a prestigious ‘outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), cementing its reputation as one of the best care homes in the country.

The rating was awarded following an unannounced inspection in September 2019, which found that the service provides "exceptional, effective, caring and well-led care and support". The home was praised for its 'welcoming environment’ for those with physical disabilities and dementia and the report describes residents as ‘truly partners in their care’. The home was last inspected in January 2017 and rated as ‘outstanding’.

The report noted the quality of care, in particular how it is personalised to suit the needs of the individual. Each resident receives an holistic assessment which takes into account their cultural, religious and lifestyle histories. They are encouraged to live life to the full and residents contributed positive feedback to the report, with one saying, "All of the staff have been exemplary in their friendliness, professionalism and caring attitude".

Gracewell team members were also commended for industry-leading safety standards. Residents are supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and routinely said they felt safe living at the home, with one commenting "I do feel safe living here, if I was still living in my own home I would not feel so secure". Additionally, the report pointed out that the deputy manager had been commended at the National Clinical Awards for his project linking good hydration with fall reduction.

Tanta Stefanescu, general manager at Gracewell of Maids Moreton, says: “We are incredibly pleased to retain our outstanding status. We saw the last rating as an opportunity to look at what more we can do here at Gracewell of Maids Moreton to keep raising care standards and we are really pleased to be recognised again.

“We are one big community here, so it was really pleasing to see the positive feedback from residents that they feel safe and enjoy being here.”

Anna Selby, director of operations at Gracewell Healthcare, says: “With under five per cent of care homes achieving the top rating from the CQC, this second outstanding rating in a row confirms Gracewell of Maids Moreton as one of the best care homes in the country.

“It is so great to see the report saying that the home provides the top level of care and we will continue to provide team members with all the tools they need to maintain the highest standards.”
