Lancashire based healthcare company, CareHomeLife, whose core purpose is ‘to honour our loved ones with dignity’ has created a free health and wellbeing resource as added value for the care home sector.
Already a well-established and dedicated provider of world-class care related products and consumables for the sector, CareHomeLife’s reputable portfolio of trusted, best-in-class assortment is backed up by trailblazing solutions-based services
These include providing tailored housekeeping, incontinence, medical and laundry systems, which help care homes drive down costs, improve efficiencies, and be outstanding. The recently added resource, CareHomeLifestyle, aims to share positivity and light with all those working within Care
CareHomeLife chairman Eddy Fishwick says the goal of the company’s products and services has always been to help a care home improve the quality of their working environment and quality of life for residents, and they continue to be purposeful in that.
“We’re an extremely customer focused organisation with our team of helpful experts on-hand to listen and respond to the ever-changing needs of the sector.
From the very start of the pandemic, we wanted to reach out and spread some cheer, to show our appreciation for all that care workers were doing through incredibly difficult circumstances,” he adds.
“To lift our customers spirits we started by sending gifts. This included over 10,000 free lunch boxes for all staff members. We also sent over 5,000 candles at Christmas, and smile jars to care home managers.”
Eddy continues: “After receiving extremely positive feedback and seeing how welcomed this kind of support was, we felt inspired to expand on this and created CareHomeLifestyle. It’s a hub of fresh and inspiring content that serves our customers and all our colleagues in social care on a deeper and different platform.
Honouring our loved ones with dignity
Care providers play a pivotal role in the healthcare industry. As custodians of the wellbeing of precious family members of the local community, it offers wonderful opportunity to demonstrate a strong commitment to running a care home that is full of life and vitality.
Eddy continues: “CareHomeLife’s mission of honouring our loved ones with dignity ultimately relies upon care home owners and managers, nurses, and carers – for this they should be supported wholeheartedly and holistically, given every opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle in and out of work.
“As we continue to help care homes to create safer, healthier environments, it felt right to pledge this additional support which shines a light on the physical and mental wellness of workers in this amazing, selfless industry.”
As we all navigate our way through this pandemic, it is natural to be concerned about the mental toll it is taking on not just ourselves, but those we care about too. It is within all our gifts to promote health, prevent disease, and maintain health in all our environments; at home for ourselves and our families, in social circles for our friends, and of course at work for our colleagues.
The physical and mental safety of those closest to us is something many of us want to help protect. In order to do that, we must first honour our own personal wellbeing to arm us with the attitude and energy to bring our full self to work every day to be the best we can be; choosing patience, kindness, and compassion takes less effort when we feel at our best.
The Lifestyle printed publication and content hub share natural, alternative wellbeing and real-life experiences from people in the field of social care.
The message is reinforced by a series of podcasts, with a line-up of special guests who include Care England chief executive Professor Martin Green OBE and Eddy Fishwick himself sharing their take on care, selfcare and the need to be positively selfish.
Looking after yourself well is the precursor to looking after others. Martin Green points out there is an amazing amount of resilience out there in the care sector, but now is the time to consider the benefits of ‘self care’ as a critical part of the process of providing a robust caring environment - enter CareHomeLifestyle
