Inspired Villages has filed plans with Dorset Council for a retirement village consisting of 330 apartments and cottages, and a 60-bed care home near Ringwood.
The plans include demolition of existing buildings and structures to the Matchams Stadium, which hosts banger and stock car racing on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The proposals include 330 units of accommodation, with full supporting amenity and care facilities, therapy, and 24-hour supervision.
The masterplan as submitted by Pozzoni Architecture shows a scheme comprising 132 apartments, and 198 cottages set around the Village Centre – a complex of retail, hospitality and well-being facilities accessible to residents of the development and also open to eligible residents of the surrounding community.
Paperwork lodged for the scheme at Matchams Stadium show proposed facilities include café, restaurant, shop and hair salon along with a wellbeing centre incorporating fitness studio, gym and inside pool.
The 52-hectare application site lies north of Bournemouth Airport in East Dorset, approximately 2.4 km along Matchams Lane and 3.8 km North of Hurn.
