wissner bosserhoff promotes mobilisation with SafeLift

Premium nursing bed manufacturer wissner bosserhoff is applying innovative bed tech to meet the needs of elderly care providers.

When selecting a nursing bed, it is essential that care providers fully consider the individual needs of their residents, their varying levels of functional mobility, the everyday care tasks to be undertaken by the care staff to support this, and how operational costs can be optimised. Maintaining the mobility of residents in the long term is a major challenge. Movement and mobility have a positive and preventive effect on many areas of everyday care. However, the mobilisation of residents in nursing care facilities does not always come without the risk of falls.

Wireless nursing home support system SafeLift is a smart mobilisation assistant that revolutionises independent bed operation for the resident, thus significantly relieving caregivers. It differs from any conventional manual switch mainly in that it can be operated without cable and battery, meaning no follow-up costs for broken cables or new batteries, and no trip hazard. Its ergonomic shape is ideal for any resident with good dexterity and provides a secure grip when getting out of bed. A LED orientation light under the bed and large fluorescent buttons on the SafeLift Controller ensure good visibility even in the dark. The 360° rotatable grip handle can be easily positioned along the bed without tools.

Additionally, a standing aid such as Mobistick helps support and mobilise residents safely when getting out of bed. The system features an intuitive design with rotating handle that can lock away into the bed when not in use. Split SafeFree® side guards can be used as a safe standing aid for partially mobile residents as they are individually adaptable to different heights and feature an automatic mobilisation height designed into the bed 3 stop strategy.

Only by discussing individual requirements with a specialist bed supplier can the most appropriate solutions be recommended, with future provisions also being at the forefront of that consideration too. This is critical for minimising risk, ensuring efficient performance and, of course, maximising care.

With technology evolving at a fast pace, partnering with a proven and trusted supplier with manufacturing capability and which focuses intensively on R&D to ensure its care beds incorporate the latest technology and innovations will ultimately offer more choice and a greater range of bespoke solutions to meet the rapidly evolving challenges faced.
