Danforth Care opens first Suffolk home

Danforth Care Home has celebrated the official opening of Harbour Manor in Felixstowe, Suffolk.

Opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Town Mayor of Felixstowe, councillor Seamus Bennett, the home was purpose built by LNT and boats 66 en suite rooms, a cinema, salon, café, and library.

Harbour Manor has been designed to be as eco-friendly as possible, with 80 per cent of the available roof space lined with solar panels. The home, which operates without gas and is A rated for energy, will be selling any excess power back to the grid.

Home manager Magda Kurdziel said: “It’s a pleasure to be opening Harbour Manor care home officially to the public. The whole team are so excited to get started building a wonderful community here in Felixstowe, and providing a beautiful and safe place for vulnerable adults to live.”
