Derby home awarded five-star food hygiene rating

HC-One’s Shelton Lock Care Home in Derby, Derbyshire, has been awarded a five-star food hygiene rating.

The top rating reflects outstanding performance across all assessed areas, including food handling, storage, preparation, and the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dining facilities.

The Food Standards Agency’s inspection is designed to ensure that care homes meet stringent hygiene and safety requirements, with five-star ratings only awarded to those demonstrating the highest levels of compliance.

Home Manager Nicola Millar said: “We are very proud of the team for achieving this fantastic rating. It’s a true testament to the effort and care they put into maintaining a safe and clean environment for our residents. Our residents deserve nothing less than the best, and this rating reflects that.

“This is a collective achievement, and I want to thank all of our staff for their hard work and attention to detail. We will continue to strive for excellence to ensure the well-being and happiness of everyone here at Shelton Lock.”
