Manchester home sold to Cygnet Health Care

Christie & Co has announced the sale of a former nursing home in Hyde, Greater Manchester.

Constructed in the mid-1990s, the purpose-built home provides 100 en suite bedrooms arranged across four care units, each set up to accommodate residential, nursing, challenging behaviour, or mental health care.

Following a sales process with James Knight at Christie & Co, the property has been purchased by Cygnet Health Care Ltd.

James Knight, associate director – care at Christie & Co, said: “I’m delighted to announce the sale of Hyde Nursing Home in Manchester. I originally sold the home to my client and after several years under his stewardship, he instructed me to find a new owner. We ran a thorough campaign and received significant interest and market leading bids from excellent operators across the region with Cygnet coming out on top. Cygnet were a pleasure to deal with and moved very quickly to get the deal completed. Their investment and plans with the home are groundbreaking and I look forward to seeing the finished project in 2026.”
