Durham care home sold to The Prestige Group

Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the sale of West Lodge Care Home in Crook, Durham.

The ‘Good’ rated home is registered for up to 60 residents and occupies a 2008 purpose-built property located in Billy Row, a village on the outskirts of Crook in County Durham.

The home has been owned by the Higginbotham family since 1989 and was brought to market due to their desire to retire. Following a confidential sales process with Hayley Hughes and Julie Kitson at Christie & Co, of West Lodge Care Home has been sold to The Prestige Group, which owns nine other homes across the North East.

A spokesperson at The Prestige Group said: “We’re delighted to complete the acquisition of West Lodge Care Home in Durham. West Lodge is an excellent fit with Prestige Care Group and, in many ways, mirrors our own values. We’re very excited to build on the excellent reputation that West Lodge already has and to further support its future growth and development as a fantastic service for the local communities. As an operator, we have gradually been expanding across the North East, and we’ll be making some further exciting announcements in the coming weeks on that note.”
