Cheshire care home finds new owner

Cheshire care home Sable Cottage has been sold to JAS Care Homes in a deal brokered by Montane Care.

The home, in Kelsall, near Tarporley, provides specialist residential, nursing, dementia, day and respite care for up to 38 residents. It has a ‘Good’ CQC rating. Montane Care brokered the sale for Sunil Patel, who has now exited the sector to pursue new opportunities. The home has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by JAS Care Homes, which is led by Arun Jothinath.

Darren Edwards, healthcare agent at Montane Care, said: “Sable Cottage Nursing Home has long served its local community, situated amid the tranquil Cheshire countryside a few miles from Tarporley and next to Delamere Forest.

“This successful transfer of Sable Cottage illustrates the dynamic nature of the care sector today. Experienced operators like Mr Patel are choosing to exit at the right time, while new operators like Mr Jothinath bring fresh energy, ambition and a commitment to preserving and evolving quality of care.

“The deal also demonstrates that, with the right professional support, first time buyers and expanding operators can navigate challenges with confidence and assume responsibility for well operated, mission driven homes.”
