Muller Property Group has secured planning permission for the redevelopment of a Manchester brownfield site.
The approval allows for the transformation of the 1.1-hectare plot on Manchester Old Road, Middleton – currently the site of Parkfield House, a former 1960s council building – into a modern mixed residential and care development.
Rochdale Borough Council has approved plans for an 80-bed three-storey care home and 20 new family homes. The site sits within the Manchester Old Road Conservation Area.
Julie Doherty, managing director – care at Muller Property Group, said: “We are delighted to have secured planning approval for the site. From the outset, we have worked collaboratively with Rochdale Borough Council to ensure that our proposals respond sensitively to the site’s historic and conservation context. Through careful design and heritage considerations, we have been able to create a scheme that delivers much-needed care accommodation and new homes, while respecting the character of the area.”
