The President of the Norwegian Parliament, Masud Gharahkhani, visited Cinnamon Care Collection Care Home’s Eden Court Retirement Village & Care Home in Battersea to mark the rollout of Sensio’s AI-powered fall-prevention technology
The visit, which took place in January, brought together delegates from the Norwegian Parliament and business community to recognise the growing collaboration between the UK and Norway in addressing challenges in health and social care through innovation.
As part of the partnership, Sensio’s RoomMate system is being installed in every resident’s room across Cinnamon Care Collection homes, including Eden Court in Battersea. Cinnamon Care Collection, which operates 23 care homes across the UK, is one of the first major care home groups in the country to implement Sensio’s technology at scale.
The infrared-based RoomMate system monitors resident movement and alerts care teams in real time, enabling faster and more responsive care. By supporting early intervention, the technology helps to reduce the risk of falls while maintaining residents’ privacy, dignity, and independence.
The visit demonstrated the vital impact of global collaboration and technology-driven innovation in supporting older adults and relieving strain on health and social care systems.
Falls are still one of the top causes of hospital admissions for people over 65, costing the NHS more than £2.3 billion a year. Through partnerships such as this, Sensio continues to support care providers in delivering truly person-centred care using advanced, privacy-first technology.
Lisa Delaney, country director at Sensio., said: “I’m delighted to share that Cinnamon Care Collection has committed to rolling out our RoomMate Sensor Technology across all 23 of their homes. We’re incredibly excited to continue building this partnership and to support the delivery of truly person-centred care for their residents.”
“This collaboration has been rooted in co-creation and close partnership and has grown into a genuine friendship. It has been fantastic to be here today and to welcome the President of the Norwegian Parliament - a truly exciting opportunity to be part of.”
Gavin Pathmarajan, head of care and quality for Cinnamon Care Collection commented: “It’s been a pleasure to welcome Masud Gharahkhani and his delegation to Eden Grange today. We hope the visit showcased a true example of partnership working that wholeheartedly supports our residents’ quality of life and wellbeing - going above and beyond fall prevention alone.”
Masud Gharahkhani, President of the Norwegian Parliament, added: “Being in the UK is great. We have a special relationship between the UK and Norway and seeing Norwegian technology used within healthcare services is very important – so thank you for the work you do.”
