From the editor: FOMO? There’s still time…

Loyal readers of The Care Home Environment will know we haven’t followed the crowd: we are print-first. Our over 10,000 registered care home operator, developer, investor and supplier readers know and love us for this. Because TCHE is dedicated to supporting the creation of the very best physical, tangible care environments that enhance the lives of all who live and work in them. Our titles , including the annual Care Industry Handbook and New Build supplement, as well as the ten-month-a-year TCHE, reflect that focus: something people can hold, share and enjoy in an accessible format that doesn’t get swallowed up by competing notifications on your phone.

I hope those who are signed up and received the latest November issue this week will have seen why this matters: in-depth, expert long reads from senior, experienced voices across the sector. For instance, expert corporate lawyer Monica Macheng offers detailed advice on the rapidly changing care home ownership landscape, while Fairlie Healthcare chief Ben Payne explores how operators can evolve environments in the age of Neighbourhood health — to name just two.

And there is so much more, including a look at how care homes are financing expansion and a provider’s perspective on the evolution of luxury retirement provision. Not to mention my latest deep dive into the ambition and design behind a new care home opening: this month, how Signature is trialling a new wellbeing approach at its latest opening in Hornchurch.

It’s our last issue of 2026, and I couldn’t be prouder and more grateful to be able to continue to work with such a brilliant range of contributors, bringing their expertise to our readers in a lasting, tangible format. It’s our hope and belief that our approach mirrors and supports the quality our readers are seeking to achieve in their roles optimising care home environments.

Of course, we also recognise that people sometimes want quick access to an explainer or practical, case study-led article. Registered subscribers receive a digital version of the magazine a week or so after the print version has been circulated, and articles are added to the TCHE website for registered reader access.
