Jenny has over 30 years’ experience working as a nurse within the health and social care sector
Qualified nurse, holding RGN and nursing degree BSc (Hons) as well as management, teaching (PGCE) and assessing qualifications.
Jenny is passionate about quality of care that is delivered to the client and believes that everyone should receive outstanding level of care, where ever they are (be it in care homes, nursing homes, domiciliary care, hospitals or hospices). An important aspect of this is the confidence and competence of the staff within that service and how they care and support the clients and interact, not only with the clients, but their relatives, other visitors (including other members of the multi-disciplinary team) and as well as their colleagues on a day to day basis. However, to enable them to do this, they need to be given the knowledge and skills to equip them to do their jobs.
- Jenny has many years of experience of undertaking training needs analysis within services and then providing training that is relevant, enjoyable and engaging to the delegates attending, to ensure that learning is optimised.
- Having worked as a registered manager of services, also understands the dilemmas and complexities that managers are faced with and due to this, is able to offer support both formally (supervisions, mock inspections, action plans etc) or informally as needed.
- Has supported services that have been rated inadequate to improve their practice and be rated as either good or outstanding.
- Held positions from volunteer through to Director of Nursing and also specialist advisor for CQC.
