Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has announced the sale of Belmont House care home in Brixham, Devon.
Belmont House is an established care home registered for 24 residents. It has been owned by Patrick and Lynne Phillips for 25 years and was brought to market to allow them to retire.
Following a confidential sales process with Eve-Angelica Apperley, and with funding sourced through Gary Boyce at Christie Finance, the home has been purchased by first-time buyers Gino and Stephanie Ussi.
Patrick and Lynne Phillips, the former owners of Belmont House, said: “We purchased Belmont House from Christie & Co 25 years ago. This time in the sector has not been without its challenges; however, in the same breath, along with our daughter, the registered manager of the home, growing the business to the present day is one that we feel very proud of. The care sector is one we should all look after with compassion, taking into consideration the people who come into this sector. First-time buyers, Gino and Stephanie, showed us the compassion we feel is necessary for a successful business in care. With our daughter remaining as the registered manager of Belmont House, we wish Gino and Stephanie every success in building on and sustaining the great reputation Belmont House has had for many years.”
Gino Ussi, one of the new owners of Belmont House, commented: “Stephanie and I are both delighted that the transaction was successful, as we absolutely love Belmont House. The team at the home are a pleasure to work with, and the residents clearly love living there. We look forward to building on the success of the business, and wish the Phillips family all the best with their retirement.”
Eve-Angelica Apperley, business agent – care at Christie & Co, said: “We’re delighted that, after so many years of successful ownership by Lynne and Patrick Phillips, Belmont House is now in the safe hands of Stephanie and Gino Ussi. We wish Lynne and Patrick all the very best for their well-deserved retirement, and look forward to seeing Stephanie and Gino build on the home’s success for many years to come.”
Gary Boyce, director at Christie Finance, added: “It was a pleasure assisting Gino and Stephanie in securing funding for their first care home purchase. They possess all the necessary transferable skills and have sound motivation for entering the care sector. Belmont House provides the ideal first purchase for them, and with the support of the existing care manager and team at the home, we have no doubt they will make a success of running and growing the business. With their ambition to own multiple care homes, we look forward to discussing further acquisition opportunities in the near future.”
