The Mill House Care Home in Kington, Herefordshire, has officially unveiled its eight new luxury Garden Rooms at a festive launch event.
A family-run home in Worcester specialising in dementia care, The Mill House Care Home is a purpose-built, person-centred environment designed to help residents live with dignity, comfort, and connection. The Mill House offers tailored support for individuals at every stage of their dementia journey.
The launch event saw local families, professionals, and community guests welcomed to an afternoon of music and celebration. Councillor Dr Matt Lamb, The Mayor of Worcester, formally marked the occasion by cutting the ribbon, before joining guests on guided tours of the new Garden Rooms.
In addition to the opening of the new rooms, The Mill House also celebrated its prestigious Three Star Platinum Accreditation with the National Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme (NaDCAS) – a nationally recognised framework that supports care providers in achieving excellence in dementia care.
Joanne Carroll, proprietor of The Mill House Care Home, said: “This project has been two years in the making, and what I’m most proud of is how our incredible team has continued to deliver outstanding, consistent care throughout that entire time. I cannot thank them enough.
“To now be celebrating the opening of our new Garden Rooms, alongside achieving the highest possible three-star accreditation – an honour shared by only three other care homes in the UK – is a truly special moment for The Mill House family.”
Councillor Dr Matt Lamb said: “I’ve visited many care homes in my role, and I can confidently say that there’s such a wonderful atmosphere here. Speaking to staff and residents, it’s clear there’s a lot of love at The Mill House. This is an amazing facility, and I’d like to thank the team for their hard work and dedication – it really is something special.”
